Eye-link belts (type CMG)

CMG type belts are made up of interlaced or woven wire to form a mesh, joined by cross rods fixed at either extreme by a welded washer. They can incorporate reinforced mesh at the edges, as seen in the photographs, whilst allowing the belt to rest on support rolls.

The main property of these belts is that they are driven by a positive drive. The specially grooved rolls which act as the motor and return rolls in these installations, engage precisely with the cross rods of the belt, and therefore eliminate the possibility of motor/belt slip.

This property makes CMG belts especially appropriate for those applications where synchronisation of machines and conveyors is imperative. Other properties of these belts are as follows:

  • Easy to clean and difficult to clog.
  • The open-mesh area can be varied by mounting spacers, which increase the distance between loops, thus reducing the weight of the belt while increasing the circulation of air passing through it.
  • The smooth surface facilitates the assembly of load transfers and other processes to the installation.
  • The possibility of fitting retention edges to belts carrying pieces that may turn, or even for bulk products. They can also be fitted with flights.
  • The capacity of working at temperatures up to 650ºC.
